Members of the Malicious Code Operations Team (Malcode Ops) monitor threats posed by viruses, worms, Trojan horses, spyware and adware. Real-time human intelligence, combined with focused, automated spiders and other search tools that mine the Internet, helps iDefense identify new threats and malicious actors. Malcode analysts have strong backgrounds in malicious code research and reporting, and have experience with a wide range of programming languages and malicious code software solutions. Members of the iDefense Malcode Operations Team are widely published, provide a multitude of computer-related training courses and are privy to the elite discussion groups of anti-virus analysts worldwide. Malcode analysts are also members of various research groups such as the Virus Bulletin Group and AVIEN.

The iDefense Malcode Operations Team reports on hundreds of new malicious code threats each month and has devised a rapid-response system to notify customers of important outbreaks. Malcode works hand-in-hand with iDefense Labs to quickly analyze code and provide clients with important updates as they become available. The team also authors a multitude of research papers on a variety of topics.

The iDefense Malcode Operations team has intimate knowledge of the activities, code and tools of hundreds of malicious actors. This helps iDefense regularly discover new malicious codes and identify new attack vectors and threats being developed by malicious actors.
